1928 under Ft. Revd. WM G. Hardie, the M.U. was organized on a Diocesan level. Mrs. Hardie the 1st Diocesan President and Mrs. G. P. Stephenson, first Organising Secretary. Mary Sumner House provided the Jamaica Diocese with Organising Secretaries and met their financial obligations until our first Jamaican Organising Secretary, Mrs. Stella Gregory's retirement after we took over. Mrs. Cynthia McMillan was next, then Mrs. Orpha Johnson followed by Mrs. Olga Brown, now retired.

We now have three Regional Presidents. Membership is open to all baptized in the Holy Trinity. Our aim is the advancement of the Christian Religion and all that strengthens Christian Family Life.

The Indoor Members Prayer Circle (IMPC) was introduced in 1933. Its object is to keep in touch with those who are no longer able to attend meetings.

The M.U. observes two special Feast Day:

Lady Day - The Feast Of The Annunciation
Mothering Sunday - The Fourth Sunday Of Lent
  -
Total number of branches - 150
Total number of members - 4000 (Approx.)

Our Patron: Rt. Revd. Dr. Alfred Reid - Lord Bishop of Jamaica.

OBJECTIVES:

A. - To encourage young people to join the M.U.
B. - To concentrate on branch development through various programmes.
C. - To be involved at the Provincial Level.
D. - To produce and publish the Annual Family Life Magazine
E. - To promote Fund-Raising.

TARGETS:

Set realistic targets at Regional, Deanery and Branch Levels.
Quarterly follow-up at Deanery Meetings: Mid-year review at regional meetings and yearly overview and report to the M.U. membership at the Annual General Meeting when the Sir Clifford Campbell Banner for excellence is awarded to the performing Deanery and the Jean Murray Trophy for the most improved Branch. Loaf of Bread funds donated to Anglican Children's Homes.
